I'm having a problem with double tap on my touchpad since i upgraded
from 2.6.8 to 2.6.12.
I'n 2.6.8 i could double tap and i could single tap just fine, now, if I
single tap in something, it opens two apps, so I'm figuring that it's
assuming double tapping when I'm just single tapping.

I have installed kernel 2.6.8-2 686 on a newly installed sarge machine, P4 on
an Asus P5P800, on startup the kernel panics saying /dev/console not found,
however /dev/console exists, how can this situation be rectified.

it boots into the gnome login screen it beeps 3 times in a row but

to upgrade the "x-window-system-core" package saying that it is
broken, at first I thought that this was due to the ongoing change
from xfree86 to xorg. However sid has been on xorg for a while now

I am not sure whether your problem comes from the new kernel or X.org,
but I guess you have a synaptics touchpad. If you install
xfree86-driver-synaptics (it works for X.org, too) and set it
