I had the same problem. I used the drivers from the matrox site
(mgadrivers-2.0.tgz)

Then disable framebuffers and make sure you don't have a duplicate mouse

I just recently tried to get XFree86 4.1 working with the
newest nVidia drivers (1.0-3123). I'm running a custom
2.4.19 kernel and compiled the nVidia kernel drivers
against that. Seemed to work fine and the NVdriver modules
installed ok (after some troubleshooting since I keep my

to spamming !!! Well, the thing is they are not spamming at all, but their
ip was used by some unscrupulous spammer, now I have the task to write some
security to prevent that but I don't know much about the s
what could be the problem with a system that regularly puts quite
a number of processes into "uninterruptible sleep" (according to top)
for some minutes, and then releases them after a that (long) while?
for instance, logging in to courierpop3d through port 110 allows me to
enter user and password

Why install the RPM package for the nVidia GLX driver and not
get the nvidia-glx-src package and build it along with the
nvidia-kernel-src package for the kernel patch...
That is what I have working here on my AMD 1Ghz Athalon at work
with a nVidia GeForce2 MX card... I haven't u

I converted my root file system to LVM. A Linux partition (e.g. using ext2

steps.
Good luck,

I believe all RPC services bind to 0.0.0.0 (all interfaces), and there
is no way to change this, from what I've read it would require a ton of
code to be changed. I
If Win98 is on hda and Linux on hdb and you can successfully boot into
Win98, you are halfway there. Now boot from a rescue disk and run lilo with
boot=/dev/hda as below.
