I think you should be fine with gcc 2.95.2 but maybe you'd be safer
with 2.91.66 if you can get it as easily. You should know, though,
that I'm not at all an expert in these areas. The only time I've
recompiled my kernel was linux-2.2.17pre20 using gcc 2.95.2 on my only
non-Debian box
That did work, so this is final test. Sorry for the hassle, but you should
see it from this end!

support seems to be broken.
If I lauch a gtk-vim with LC_CTYPE=de_DE, I get

Well it is ok now. But it does teach people not to open attachments that they
do not know about espcially when using M$ softwares. Atleast they should switch
to some other MUAs as has been discussed in the list for the past few days or
move over to better OS's(like gnu/linux).

Put "0," (without quotes) in front of the number you're trying to dial.
The comma makes your modem wait for two seconds after the initial 0.

fetchnews every 4 hours, but it seems to me like it is run more often

mke2fs /dev/ram0
the ramdisk is as big as defined in the kernel.
Is there a way to change this size and create a ramdisk /dev/ram0
with 16 MB and at the same time /dev/ram1 with 8MB.

I have installed XFree86 4.0.1 on a system with Matsonic MS7012D board
with Intel i810 on board. Pentium III 550 Mhz, 128 Mb Sdram. XFree86
4.0.1 was installed with apt-get from the debs in Woody. Dexter produces
XF86Config-4 (attached), and XFree86 loads after commenting out the
fontpath
