i may be wrong but i think the esound daemon does this, not though in the
way you say.
i believe, apps send the output of the audio to the daemon and the daemon
opens /dev/dsp and outputs it there. any number of apps can talk to the
daemon and the daemon can/will output sound from multiple source

Yes, ok. Well the first thing is you want to use the newer client,
(dhcp-client-beta if you're running slink, dhcp-client if you're running
potato). Using the newer client is necessary because this client does not go
into the background until it gets an address (or times out, but let's

Something is binding to port 139 which is what samba is trying to use
and thus smbd is failing to start. How can I track down what is bound
to the port? /etc/services points to netbios-ssn service which is what
smbd handles but I am getting the following errors in the smb logs:

Run `ls -i /sbin/mkfs.ext2 /sbin/mke2fs'. You will see that they
are the same inode - therefore they are the same file with two names
hardlinked.

It appears to be a new feature but I have the same version of both
dselect and apt on both systems. I'd like to add this to the older
system as well. Everything is completely installed.

Edit /etc/ppp/peers/provider and make sure your baud rate is set to 115200

deflate 15,15
vj-max-slots 16
To juice up compression.
Hope this helps.

Can someone tell me which deb files are needed to reinstall glibc? I'm
using potato. If you need more information, just let me know. I assume
I can just download the files and then use dpkg to reinstall.
