Such kind of output (with obviously more information about your system,
gathered and proceeded by "reportbug" tool) is a possible bug, you just
can report to relevant package. Then experienced developers will help you
if they will find ways.

OK, lets assume you don't scare of any shell scripting and text console
tools first, otherwise it will be very hard to yourself and to help

Hi,
I've just started to use Linux. So I try to install Debian 4.0 into PowerBook
G4 with the minimal base system.
After installation, I've tried to reboot the PC but it was unable to load into
GUI environment(startx). The error was like this:
Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborti

But when I then tried to run "startx", I got this message:

xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2):

Hi,
I recently installed SARGE from cd, on a PC without internet connection.
I only had the first installer disk available initially, so installed
the base system and that went fine. I later went back with the first 4
CDs of sarge (downloaded using JIGDO) to complete the install just using
apt-cdr

I have X working now, apparently I missed installing xfonts-base and
xfonts?75dpi.

I just did a fresh reinstall of potato, then upgraded to woody. I
didn't have a working X configuration, just changed my sources list
and did dist-upgrade.
Now when I try to connect to X my screen hangs with a little white
space at the top and then gives me the error message:
Fatal server error:
c
Probably you need
ln -s /usr/bin/X11/XFree86 /etc/X11/X
Hopefully the package installation scripts will soon be able to create
the necessary symlink.

I think somehow you do not have the X server

I had this problem with I upgraded as well, luckily
I just did a dist-upgrade to woody and when I try to start X I
get the following error message:
X: cannot stat /etc/X11/X (No such file or directory)
aborting
xinit: server error
I will check the list archives (with lynx :-) and I know I
need to make a symlink somewhere, but I'm not sure to what.

If I try to start with "startx", I get the following message:
XSession: unable to start X sessions: no /path/.xsession found, no
window managers, and no terminal emulators found.
I have rerun xf86config. I have looked over all the related
