Hello!
I've recently installed Xfree86 4.3 running on Debian Woody.

I can fix this or do I haveto downgrade to Xfree86 4.1?
Quake3 worked without problems with Xfree86 4.1.

I tried this. output in shell still shows that /dev/dsp is not available.
Note that I can listen to mp3s. Q3A can run without sound but not with.
Still need to try Q3A 1.32 point release though.

Hi, can someone please tell me what packages I need, from a CLEAN debian
installation, on a 2.4.5 kernel, to use Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament in
OpenGL/Glide 3Dfx mode? What needs to be compiled in, and what .deb's? Please

I am running testing, so I have X 4.x
I added
Load "glx"
Load "dri"
to my X config
however, glxinfo reports "direct rendering: no"

To be able to use full acceleration (direct rendering) a glx client has to be
