I am running the latest Xfree85 4.2.1 version and can now boot up into
GDM console log in, but when I try to log in, it flashes the screen,
pauses,
then returns me to the login screen again. Ive tried this with several
different user accounts.

Hi,
I have compiled XF 4.0.1 in /usr/XF40 (I don't want XF 4.0.1 from Woody
because I run Potato). But now Gdm doesn't start the X server at boot time
and I don't know where I have to configure this special installation.
