On squeeze LTS. Upgraded the kernel 2 days ago. Everything was going
OK. Then out of nowhere I get a kernel failure popup after coming out

my business. But don't want to get bit down the road. What should I
Kernel 3.1 indeed breaks badly on some boxes.
Try the latest 3.2, which both Debian and Ubuntu will stabilize for the next
stable releases, and which is currently being supported upstream as well.

Hello. I insalled Debian Wheezy in an Asus eeepc 1215p netbook with 2 gb
ram. The thing is that, from time to time, a kernel failure message pops up.
Following are uname -a, lspci and kernel oops strings.
I will appreciate any comments or instructions to solve this problem

Booted the machine this afternoon, and in gnome I get a message that
goes something like this: Your kernel has had a failure, do you wish to
send the stack trace to kerneloops.org (or whatever)? I said yes.
Here is the oops/trace (if those are the proper terms) from /var/log/kern.log:

Some additional info you might request, before quoting the kernel

Hey everyone,
Running Debian Squeeze here inside a VM (virtual box) and kernelopps
is popping up with a warning on Gnome startup.
Your system had a kernel failure
There is diagnostic information available for this failure. Do you
want to submit this information to the www.kerneloops.org website

No need to open a new thread. You can add more information on the

Follow up: When the wvdial error occurs,
a popup window tells me the
kernel failed.
I should mention that I installed Debian 5.03
yesterday from 5 DVDs. I intend to report this
to kerneloops.org,
but without a Net connection,
everything gets relayed through my
Windows machine.

Hi,
I've just installed lenny under VirtualBox as I wanted to try a
different Linux distribution.
When I logon to a Gnome session, I often get a popup saying:
"Your system has had a kernel failure"
It most often happens the first time I logon using gnome after a boot.
