i've found great success using rp-pppoe from www.roaringpenguin.com
i have an AMD that i use as a firewall/router and rp-pppoe has worked
great for me every time.
read the documentation on the roaringpenguin site about how to set it
up. it's really simple.

Here are my results from pinging you, but i cant hit your DNS at all;
maybe you gave the wrong DNS IP? That looks like what happened to me,
sorry I don't know why pppoe is using pts0 either...
