Hi,
I'm trying to install debian on a second computer here at work from
cd-rom. I got the base system installed from floppy OK, and the cd rom was
apparently detected, but i don't have a clue how to mount it. I was
expecting a /dev/scd0 block device, but there's none, just sda, sdb, etc

Hi,
I have two seperate problems, but both are to do with setting up
networking.
1.
My PC(s) at home:
I have two connected with 3C509 ethernet cards, and have given them reserved
IP addresses. They talk to each other perfectly. No problems.
In one, I have a modem. I have set it up s

Hi,
My GCC setup doesn't appear to be correct on my Debian 1.3.1 and 1.2
system. Initially after installing it, whenever I tried to run it, the
message:
GCC installation problem:

Hi,
Whilst recompiling my (2.0.30) kernel using make-kpkg as suggested in
the debian FAQ, the following thing happened towards what i guess would've
been the end:

debian/temp_image/boot/vmlinuz-2.0.30
cp: arch//boot/bzImage: No such file or directory

Hi,
I've upgraded from 1.2 to 1.3.1, and during the process file-rc was
installed...
Well, I'm having problems with it. First, on boot up xdm wouldn't start.
Looking in /etc/runlevel.conf, xdm was the last line of the file and below
was a comment saying:
