Thankyou to all who answered, a great help. My modemed PC can get on the
internet OK now and talk to it's eth0'd neighbour.
I still don't know how to get out on to the net tho' from the eth0'd one
which doesn't have a modem but has the modemed one as it's gateway...
My PC at work can sit on the network nice now, except I can't get a remote
xdm session yet - here's what I try with Xwin32 under win85:
I set up a broadcast session and there's a list of a few SGs we have here
which are 'willing to manage'. Selecting those brings up the xdm login
screen for those machines. My linux machine is also on the list but is only
'available'. Selecting it just brings up a message (after a long wait...)
saying it can't open display at <some funny host name>. I dunno quite what
the prob. is here...
