cd /usr/src/modules
apt-get source pcmcia-cs
cd pcmcia-cs-
make config
cd /usr/src/linux
make-kpkg modules_image
This will leave you with a pcmcia .deb in /usr/src.
According to the make-kpkg manpage you can also
do the 'make config' step from within make-kpkg,
but I haven't trie
that
situation.
I'm stuck. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just FYI this same problem began for me under wterm after a
recent upgrade of vim. The solution mentioned (don't set term
type to linux) worked for me too.

be a problem mounting Debian/i386 NFS shares.
Our /homes are NFS mounted and the Sparc box complains a lot
about the NFS connection. I haven't started trying to figure

For myself, I'm much happier trying to debug Debian/Sparc

Debian machines.
I simply clone my system onto the new machine, and then change
whatever hardware-specific settings are needed. Much simpler

customizing it from scratch.

Naturally as soon as I wrote the list I figured it out.
For the record the problem was wrong permissions on /var/tmp.
So what do I need to do to make tar set permission correctly?

Hi all,
I use Debian at home. At work we are gradually switching from Windows to Linux,
and a redhat
system (6 machines) has been running for about 3 months. In a couple of weeks I
will be taking over
as sysadmin of that system, and due to the way the installation have been
