I may add a key in XFCE bindings looking like:
amixer -c 0 set Speaker playback 100%
I just checked on the USB key, what disk it really is:
Debian GNU/Linux 8.6.0 "Jessie" - Official Multi-architecture
amd64/i386 NETINST #1 20160917-18:46
That's on a laptop I installed Jessie on today.
In XFCE 4 (no reason to believe it is specific to that desktop
interface), when I pressed mute key (F7), indeed the sound
goes off. But afer that, pressing again F7 did not unmute, nor Volume
up or down key.

It appears that I did not read correctly the report of rkhunter about
the warning linked to inetd.
It goes like this:

I guess if I was you I would install rkhunter and chkrootkit.
Then launch chkrootkit, and 'rkhunter --check' to try to find if a

It won't make you feel better, but using Lenny unhide version

I have CD #1 and #2 and that's not seems enough to get
ndiswr
I am quite new to ndiswrapper. For Etch, I had downloaded latest
source, installed kernel headers, and then simply ./configure, make,
make install.
Now I am trying Testing, and since I supposed the official packages
would be recent, I began to simply install ndiswrapper-common and

And where specifically in the file do i add this?
Wow, a question on this list that I know the answer. Guess I should answer

Well, before filling a new bug, I searched bugs on Firestarter package and
found that bug #277496 is already there (for 16 days long) describing

First, I now understand that /etc/resolv.conf is dynamically created
when using usepeerdns option of pppd.
It took me some time, because I had others things to do.
It turned out that Firestarter have created an ip-up.local file, that was
stopping ip-up script. I guess I should
I use a dialup modem to connect to Internet.
I use pppconfig to configured my provider connection.
In advanced setting, nameservers, I have chosen dynamic.
But I need to use /etc/resolv.conf with a nameserver line to be
able to use Internet.
I had forgotten this for a long time, but a recent update
I am using SLINK and wget to retrieve netscape-4.6 standalone

It takes 2 nights, and so I have to terminate wget at the end of the

I got something like that after about 1 or 2 screens of stuff uncompressed:
