Depending on your needs. PA is good at resampling easily different audio flows
at different samplerate.
Much easily that what one can do with ALSA.

This is untrue. ALSA provides dmix for mixing different audio flows.

You can find the package (32 and/or 64 bits) here :

I'm very interested about feedback if you test it.

I guess there was some change in kernel config after the Debian 8 live
cd/netinst images were built. This change prevents the default kernel
from booting on the Thinkpad R40e. This change is now part of the Debian
9.0.0 netinst image.

*fault*.
I've tried yesterday to rebuild this packaget and to follow Lintian advise :
https://lintian.debian.org/tags/init.d-script-does-not-source-init-functions.html
which gave the result up above.
Just rebuilt it 5 minutes ago without the fix suggested by Lintian, and
everything is back as normal.

Hi Rodolfo,
if you're laptop is able to handle 64 bits (amd64), it's better to use it.
If you which to know if your hardware can handle 64 bits, use the command :
lscpu | grep -i "mode(s)"
It'll tell you so.
Hope that helps.

packaging organization. Ubuntu is great too by the way, maybe easier

Sorry, I can't test for x86 only.
And no, I didn't report the bug so far..
And about downgrade, it's not a solution for me : the kernel which

Please advise that I'm not alone :

Hi
I'm trying to install a debian on a serial ATA hard drive bu the kernel
version used with the woody installer is too old to see the sata disk. Any
idea to help me installing a debian on this disk ?

Don't know if this will work, but try the
Option "SWcursor" "true"
in your XF86Config file.
This was suggested to me by Paul from this list and work just
fine for me.
By the way, what is your video card?

I think you have to set your locales correctly. Set up the
environement variable LC_ALL in your terminal. For example,
export [EMAIL PROTECTED]
For this, you have to generate this locale, that is issue a
dpkg-reconfigure locales
for instance and
n your side and on the other hand if the issue shows up only on
the mail you received, it's just that the sender failed to put
the correct MIME-type.

Maybe it's worth to point out that to do it the
issue comes from the fact
that modules are loaded in sequence and you don't want one
override the effect of another since you need both: one for the
burner, one for the DVD.
