Hi all!
I've found features in the kernel-source (2.0.35), partially undocumented.
There seems to be a module for automounting filesystems, working together
with the automount deb-package. It is not present in menuconfig, etc. Why?
Is it safe to use it? And ho
Hmm, I tried fortify with netscape 4.05, but it says something about an
unknown version or such a thing.

Hi!
I've tried to get my AWE64 PnP to work, but there seem to be
massive problems with the sound driver. I configured the card with
isapnptools as suggested in the HOWTOs (the parameters are set to the same
values as in w95, and it works fine there). After "insmod sound" I get
immediatly a fast a

Hi all,
I've got a strange warning after "make menuconfig" with
kernel-source-2.0.34. It says "clock skew detected". I don't know what it
means. Can you help?
thanx,
Jens
It's me once again,
I found it, it's the .xsession-errors in /root.
However, how can it become more than 460MB???
Strange ...

Hi all,
I have a freshly installed hamm, with / mounted to a 500 MB partition
/usr and /home mounted to other partitions. df reports / is 100% in use,
and Linux seem to believe it, so no new file can be created.
To test this I made

Hi,
xcdroast is not able to find "generic-scsi cdrom support", but it is
compiled into my kernel, and scsi driver support is enabled.
it is also possible to mount the scsi burner.
(the faq says, there has to be a sg device in /proc/devices. my scsi
device is called sr there. confusing ...)

Hi folks!
I noticed that some packages like xmgr are dynamical linked against
lesstif. Work isn't very easy with xmgr and lesstif, it's not much
stable and it's buggy i think. So is it possible to make such packages
statically linked against motif (like ddd-static). I would recompile it,

I want to recompile the ftape package for kernel-2.0.32.
I've made a
dpkg-source -x ftape_3.04d-1.dsc
dpkg-source: error: tarfile `./ftape_3.04d.orig.tar.gz' contains object
(ftape-3.04d/) not in expected directory (ftape-3.04d.orig)
What does this mean?

I've upgraded XEmacs from 19 to 20. When I try to start it, it returns
XEmacs: `getwd' failed: errno 0
The point is that it can only be started from root directory. I've read
in getwd(3), that this can happen if the buffer is too small.
What can I do?

The problem is that in /usr/include/linux there
