Hi,
When a client closes, say HTTP, connection to my server then the
connection continues to be listed on the server for some period of time
in the state `TIME_WAIT'. Does such a connection still counts as valid
one, ie does the web server see it?
Thank you,

Hello,
I am having diffuculty loading a `aacraid' module into the kernel.
The module is for Dell's PERC RAID controller. The module is compiled
with 2.2.16-22 (RH7) kernel. Resulting 'o' file is copied to linux
boot diskette with kernel 2.2.14. Then when I boot a system (with the

vxfs is Veritas File System, the proprietary journaling files system
for Unix. Currently, Veritas does not support Linux. As I was told
by Veritas sales person, they are waiting to see whether Linux is
another "OS/2" or not...

Hi,
I heard that it is possible to speed-up Java programs by compiling them
into binaries (instead using JVM). Can someone point me into a place
where I could find more information? Which compiler should I use?

Hi,
Can somebody suggest a place I can download XFree 3.3.3.1 in debian
packages from? (If they exist...) I have Diamond FireGL 1000 PRO

able to find it.

I simply plugged it in. The IBM website doen't provide much relevant

For such small disk I recommend only few partitions, perhaps

the lower probability you guess the sizes wrong...

The problem started only couple days ago. I tried to fix it by reloading
the driver, even by hard reboot but without success. The man page for
ping is not very helpful. Does someone have any suggestion?

There is one reason not to use packaged satan.
.deb package contains binaries, those can include Troyan horses etc.
Sure I trust debian developers, but when using satan or some different
security auditing application I want to compile the binary for myself
from pristine sources.

Are you sure that the shadow map has been created on your server?
You can check it out by typing 'ypcat shadow.byname

I don't use CDE anymore on my Debian 2.0 so that I can not confirm
that it works with it.
