Didn't you find the software on backports.org?
If it is there, the most painless solution should be to add
backports.org to your sources.list.

Hi,
I installed debian 3.0r0 recently and it works mostly fine. However, I cannot
get into the internet.
I used the config script to set up the ppp connection and tried PAP and CHAP.
I also tried kppp for which I copied the kppprc files from my redhat 7.2
partition, on which it works fine. No
I have a strange problem:
Yesterday I configured my sound and all I had to do to get it working

But as I rebooted my computer today my MP3 player didn't work.
I pressed "play" but it even didn't want to start playing.
I tried some other play

I tried to apt-get KDE 2.2 but I can't apt-get anything either because of the

Hi.
I'm new to Debian and I think it is a very good distro.
Especially apt is great.
But I recently tried to upgrade via apt-get but got many error messages
about unresolved dependencies. I already tried the -f option but it didn't
work either.
How can I solve the dependencies problems?
Thanks
Dear Gurus,
I'm pretty new to Debian and therefore have some silly questions. My first
is:
what is all this apt-get about?
What is it good for and how does it work
