So far in my ~6 months of Linux experience, nothing have so completely
eluded me as svgalib. I've never gotten it to work at all. There was a
time when it crashed my graphics completely, but now it won't even do

Yes, but as we all know, it's not really open source, since the code

Oh, a fellow Linux TnT-
Well, nothing in the HOWTO works!
Yes, but xemacs in X works fine, it's when I run it in the console
that I get this problem. Is there a similar setting for the console
somewhere?
(thanks for your patience with me)
No, sorry but it still doesn't work. Xemacs doesn't seem to recognize
my backspace for what it is ..!?
How do I change the mouse speed in X?
I am equally confused. I would rather NOT have non-english on the
list, if it is avoidable. Not that I have anything against other
languages, but debian-user should be an open forum for discussion for
all of its readers, and using non-english does not propagate that very
well. Private discussions
Actually, none of this works. The problem is that the backspace and
DEL keys are somehow treated like the same key. So I can either have
both do 'delete-char' or both do 'delete-forward-char'. There must be
some lower level where I could set this up, but I'll be darned if I
know how/where...
No, actually, that makes both DEL and Backspace behave like DEL. Like
I said, I would really like it if Backspace deleted backwards and DEL
'forwards', so to speak.
I have this problem that has been bugging me for quite some time:
I can't get my DEL key working properly in Xemacs. I want it to always
generate delete-char, but it works like backspace, i.e. generates
delete-backward-char. I have a swedish keyboard. I've put
(require 'iso-syntax) in my .emacs.
Or, you could try kernel 2.1.129 which lets you use graphical modes for your
console. This can be slow, but it looks very good. And, you have the added
advantage of a penguin logo on top of your screen :-)
Check it out...
