$ pamtester login cedric authenticate
and login out, login in from sshd or tty, NOTHING is visible in /var/log/debug
I thought it was because —enable-debug was not activated when source where
compiled, so I recompiled packages with this

hi,
how can I achieve to unlock the xscreensaver with the root password. I was
thinking about using the pam. But I've not found any information on how to do
this.
the reason to this, is that sysadmin can unlock screensavers of users.

I have a strange thing with k3b... dvd+rw-tools package is installed,
when I start k3b, I receive a warning with "Unable to find
dvd+rw-format" but dvd+rw-format is in /usr/bin and it's in the search

Any idea?

What keeps me from jumping that fence, apart from the time I'd spend
reconfiguring everything, is that my choice shell (zsh) is said not to
support UTF-8, and that my choice newsreader (trn4) looks like it
doesn't either. But that doesn't count as *experience*.

Something wrong?
One way to solve the problem is to use"--login" option at prompt line when
I call xterm (same way with quick lauch button). Another one is to rename
xterm and create a file that calls xterm --login. But I'd like to know if
there is a better way.
Thanks for help ; )

Bought Debian from LInuxMall and it came with a free RH 6.1
CD. I decided to update from RH60 to 6.1 first. Every thing
went fine during the install and setup. Now, LILO does not
work. When I enter 'dos' at the LILO prompt nothing happens.
It just sits there and I have to reboot. I would like to

I did:
mv /home/cedric/mydocs /mnt/LS120
so I could backup /home/cedric/mydocs to a LS120 Super

I had not mounted the LS120 yet so I did:
mount /mnt/LS120
which worked fine.
Then I did;

and got a message telling me /home
