Dial my ISP twice. Most modems have different configurations, so look at
your modem's manual.

cards work with future X or kernel.
I have heard that NVidia releases drivers with obfuscated code that no-one
can really understand or modify much. A lot of my friends feel frustrated
because their TNT2s don't perform well in Linux. (Bad drivers)
Good Luck, have fun!

I don't have any complaints, it has worked fine, and I can download my

If I don't turn on the UDMA/66 feature (through this line in lilo.conf:
append = "ide2=ata66") the drive runs noticeably slower, I think hdparm -t
gave me around 17MB/s.
I think that proves that at least in my case, there is some benefit of the
UDMA/66 bus.

Did you make the devices for the card?
You can do it like this:
cd /dev
./MAKEDEV audio
> Do I need the Alsa drivers ??
I tried them, but their support for these cards isn't very good, I had to
switch back to the kernel drivers.

I really didn't have any problems. Linux works fine on these hard drives,
and very fast too: I am getting 22.5MB/s out of this HD. (Nice) My old drive
(WD 6.5GB) only got 9.5MB/s. If you want to measure this, use:
hdparm -t /dev/hda
Good Luck,
he latest version of
Xfree you will have no problems. You need to install the SVGA X server.
This card runs great in Linux, we have run Quake II with glx acceleration,
and Quake III arena test too.:)

the ES1371 have some problems, but they should be fine for the ES1370.

You can get the latest ALSA drivers from:

he support for 3COM cards is very good.
Try the 3c59x driver for both of those cards. I think I've made several 3Com
509B work with that driver.
In Debian use:
modconf
And then net, there you will find the 3c59x driver.

I don'
r level. Did the
UDMA/33 RAID board have this?
I really would like to have RAID-0, can I do that with the regular UDMA/66
board from promise (Promise Ultra 66) and do the RAID-0 from software
available in Linux? I would prefer using a good controller that does the
array itself, I think it wou
quite fast,
and it would be extremely cheap in comparison to SCSI.
Someone on the list wrote that the Promise Ultra 66 controller works, but
that one doesn't do RAID, so I need to find out about the FastTrack 66
controller.

Hi!
I am using a Debian machine as a Database Server. I am using
PostgreSQL and I am connecting to it with several Win9x
machines running access and VB50.
I installed the ODBC drivers on the win machines from:

I had to change the configuration for postgreSQ
