I have an Adaptec 1502 SCSI card which is of the pre-PnP
ISA jumpered variety. Refreshingly, it is documented on
the silkscreen, so I know it's set up for I/O=140h and
IRQ=9.
But, in installing Debian 2.2, I didn't see where you can
give it this information. It seems like there should

If you think the CD you have is bad look at the checksums (md5sum I think).
Try a clean install and don't do anything to the modules when prompted (I left

/var/spool/news/in.coming, but nothing in the various
/var/spool/news/ directories. How do I get
the batch file processed by localhost and posted to the

you need to compile a kernel with sound support and with the card you
have.
I installed 2.4 on a potato (updated Storm) release, in order to use
XFree4.0.1 and a usb mouse on a motherboard with an Intel i810 chip. I
started with test 8, and had a few problems with it freezing up
occasionaly. I am now at test 10, and have no problems with the OS.

I'm experiencing a quite ridiculous problem in running make config for
preparing to install the isdn4k-utils:
When you run "make config" you get a ascii menu.
The second sub menu is displayed as "General Configurations" which is
again splitted up to several other sub menus. The first one out of
