I wondered, if I were to dump all cached archives on a different
partition, how do I point apt-get to that partition rather than the
default /var/cached/apt/archives

I've noticed that my mozilla-firebird in testing does not
respond to XIM. It turns out I have to change my locale
settings.
This was my locale:
LANG=C
LC_CTYPE=zh_TW.Big5
LC_TIME=C
mozilla-firebird gives no hint about XIM under these settings.
