Hey there,
The new evolution 3.38 stack from experimental is ready to upload to
unstable. The transition has been completed in Ubuntu 20.10 which means
we have the needed fixes available to complete it in Debian as well, I'm
happy to help with uploads (NMU if needed)

Are you saying you want to hijack GTK now?
Sebastien Bacher
.15 anyway
I'm not interested to upload a GTK 2.9 variant building only the .udebs
to unstable neither

a lot of changes and new features for 2.10 and "a
random 2.9 snapshot" is not something we are wanting to ship with a
stable Debian

Hi,
I've just uploaded gnome-system-monitor 2.8.1-2. The previous version of
the package includes some scrollkeeper generated files and should not,
this package fixes the issue.
The interdiff is attached to this mail if you want to consider the
change for sarge.

can't juge gnome2.6 on a separate mistake. BTW I still
belive that's not a mistake since gconf-editor is an esay way to
configure it ... and the configuration problem is a gstreamer0.8 problem
and not a rhythmbox one!
Cheers,

gnome2.6 here. Rhythmbox 0.8 has been built in i386 only before
uploading, it's a gtk+2.2 related package (gtk2.4 is not in unstable
yet), it closes ~ 15 bugs and it's nothing related to gnome desktop
(look on gnome.org or gnome lists if you're not convinced).
Thanks,
Sebastien Bacher
ted discussion out of -release please.

t ...) but not a candidate for unstable (since it's a 2.3 devel
branch) and not a part of gnome2.6.

BTW I don't have time to do this, but if somebody want to test this it
would be nice!

Hi,
Don't worry we are not going in this way.

to keep this effort continualy, that's wasting too much ressource for no

m doesn't want breakage.
The Gnome Team neither.

We are not speaking about uploading in sarge directly ...

Sebastien Bacher
thout any problem, that's much than 95% of the
unstable packages ...

BTW any chance to speed up new libcupsys2 acceptation in experimental ?
The name has changed and it's in NEW ... having it accepted now would be
great since we are waiting on it for the last changes.
Cheers,
Sebastien Bacher
PS: could you keep the reply on -gtk-gnome list. I've not subscribed to
-release, and that's the case for most of gnome maintainers I think.
.
We also have a lot of active people working on these packages (the Gnome
Team has 28 members), many users ready to test and help and usually
problems are reported and fixed pretty fast.
So what the release team thinks about this ? If you are fine with that
we can start the migration today.
Sebastien Bacher,

ycle if GNOME 2.6 didn't make the cut?
Yes, network shares browsing in nautilus (especially smb://) is totally
broken with GNOME2.4 , which is really a problem for people using it in
a network with Windows' boxes.
Cheers,
Sebastien Bacher
GNOME 2.4 out of unstable.

What about letting NMUgaleon 1.2.5 in testing today and working on
mozilla after that ? It'll help a lot the GNOME situation ...

Due to #212854 on gnome-vfs2 ... I'll probably NMU gnome-vfs2 soon if
Takuo KITAME doesn't fix it.
