Since Debian 6 I use Brazilian mirrors, and nothing like this ever happened
before.
I would blame those cheap ISP's that were blocking since March 18th.

then the children-distros page appeared in 2002 [2].
The page becames longer and longer until today, without a clear strategy

My gut feeling is the Derivatives page should be the page that lists
distros derived from or "children" of Debian. Creating a new page is just
more effort when the hard word has been done already.
