I successfully installed Sarge using this week's iso CD. I used BootX to
access it, as the box won't boot from the CD. After the installation, I
deselected the ramdisk according to README and set root to /dev/hda7
likewise. I get kernel panic and "no root" error. When I use the
ramdisk, the ins
ct file type on
existing partions, good. Detects and chooses existing swap. Defaults to
not erase data. We don't have that progress bar for rebuilding the
partion table screen anymore on each partion finish. Great!
Looks like it's going well. I'll do the rest in the installation-repo

I hope this will help d-i/kernel/manual folks to get d-i installing quik
correctly for this type of box.

I already have to correct my last post. I found this in dmesg:
Serial: 8250/16550 driver $Revision: 1.90 $ 8 ports, IRQ sharing
disabled

IN from bad port 3f9 at c0103aac

IN from bad port 2f9 at c0103aac

I want to test d-i on this clone, so I'll use something else for now.

Any advice, no matter how mean, will be appreciated.

velop them.
Anyway, not having any immediate success at debian-boot, maybe I'll get
something to move on here.
