Hi Jim First, can you cc the list in your replies? Also are you running debian, modconf is the tool of choice for configuring modules on a debian system. You can use modprobe or insmod, my experience with either is somewhat sketchy but you could try insmod dmasound_core & insmod dmasound_pmac

Xfree86 error on Mac G4 with DVI LCD monitor

I have a Power Mac G4 400mHz AGP, with an ATI Rage 128 Pro Video card. It is connected to a Planar CT1904Z LCD display, through the DVI port. I've installed debian unstable with XFree86 Version 4.3.0.1 Any time I try to load the Xserver either by GDM or manually, it crashes and gives me an error

I 'discovered' a way for Gnome to use my CUPS printer. Before, Gnome applications would only print to lpr. I discovered I could replace lpr with xpp to bring up a great printer interface -- works like a charm. Ed

What is the Gnome application serving as an addressbook? I've tried to apt-get gnome-pim and it no longer exists. I need something like KDE's addressbook. Thanks. Ed
