Hi,
our department is thinking of buying a number of new desktop machines,
and we are considering the new iMac as an alternative to the standard
i386 boxes. Has anybody here run Debian on one of these things yet?
Any glitches, caveats, pitfalls?
Thanks and best regards, Jens.

I've gone through the install procedure of potato on a pismo (a new
world powerbook).
However the next to last step "make linux directly bootable from hard
disk" runs quik rather than yaboot/ybin. I've tried going to console 2
at the end of the install process and running ybin, but it can't write

Hello,
I did not manage to hve SMP working in a dual G4 7450. The stock kernel
(2.4.16-powerc-smp) and a build kernel (from kernel-source-2.4.17 with benh
patch) hang on boot at
"smp_core99_kick_cpu done"
Does somebody knows if it can work ?
Thanks in advance

Just ignore it. Press Enter at the boot: prompt, and it should continue to
boot.

Try to merge an existing Japanese keymap with an existing Macintosh one.
