The script in alsa-driver needed to be runned despite the /dev/mixer and all
devices were there.

in a command line, and see if u are. If not, execute as root

i'm a little confused about this same sort of thing - though with any
debian kernel. in dselect install/config it went through an alsa
config that had a choice of using powermac sound out, but now while
alsa is (supposedly?) installed, alsaconfig finds no modules, no
cards.

I'm on a Pismo 500 laptop on unstable.
I cannot use sound, i have no module alsa.
grep ALSA /usr/src/benh_kernel/.config shows nothing.
I tried to load alsa-source but don't know how to compile it
with make-kpkg : modules target builds /usr/src/modules
and not /lib/modules...
Is sound not wor
