I am using 2.4.21-ben2, and experiencing difficulty
installing the Conexant driver for my iBook2.2's
internal modem. Steps taken so far:
1/ Downloaded hcfusbmodem-1.00lnxt03091600ppcfree from
www.linuxant.com, and used 'checkinstall' to make a
debian package and installed.
2/ Ran 'hcfusbconfig' a
Howdy,
It worked for me after installing kernel-image-2.4.12-powerpc.
Unfortunately, there is some kind of video driver bug which causes
character duplication in some ncurses programs. Are there plans
to package a more recent kernel?

It might have gotten confused by the first ATZ already.

One thing I have noticed, however, in common with what Branden was
mentioning was that the macserial driver sees 2 serial devices on this
FireWire iBook - ttyS0 (aka tts/0), which is the modem (I'm using it now,
so it does work), and ttyS1, which doesn't seem to be anything. This

The problem may be the device only powering up on device open, which needs
a little time (on the order of two seconds max). Did you try to add a
rather long delay between op

Can someone toss me a clue or two on getting the internal modem working
under Debian on my iBook Dual USB (a.k.a. 2001)?
I'm using kernel-image-2.2.20-powermac. The kernel sees two serial
devices according to dmesg, on /dev/tty00 and tty01.
I've grepped the list archives of this list and cannot
I have configured PPP this morning, but after dialing and before
received CONNECT, chat receive a lot of trash as if my internal modem
change his speed. After CONNECT, my ppp0 is up and running.
