Solved the problem. It seemed to be a problem with the mirror I used.
I changed it and it's now working again.

Recently I had a crash of my system and got some scrambled files.
Among them was one of the aptitude files from a recent update. I
think it was /var/lib/aptitude/pkgstates. Since I had no backup of
that file I
