I have the kernel 2.6.11.4 with APM emulation (Device Drivers ->
macintosh drivers -> apm emulation) mark as "y" and a debian with
pbbuttonsd (testing).
Only with close ibook or push ON/OFF button the ibook enter in sleep
mode with the

Anyway, I think that your problem has nothing to do with the one I had,
but trying newer versions
I'm having trouble getting my ibook 700 14in to resume. I'm running
2.6.6. It always suspends correctly, but it hangs when resuming.
When it resumes, it prints this:
