I think up until now this bug (i.e. #415543 and 426433) has only
occured with old world macs (<=G3). As you have a new world mac (G3=>)
and have similar problems it might be a good idea to add your

I have included the X.org log file and the output of lspci, /proc/iomem and
/proc/ioports.
Is this a known issue with X.org? XFree86 was working fine under Debian sar

Hello. I attemped to install Debian Etch on a IBM JS20 using an iso
from 09/22/2006. The install works correctly until it tries (and fails)
to detect the PATA hard drive. None of the modules listed will work
with it.

Hi.
I'm still fighting with my RS/6000 to get a Debian Etch on it. The
problem is, at least in my case, that I'm unable to use the stock
install images. I'm able to get yaboot booted, when I'm using the one
(yaboot.ibm) form Open Suse Enterprise 10 beta for ppc. I even go

Hi again,
I installed Debian (Etch) PPC (I think this is considered to be
"testing"). At the end of the install, I got the following message:
"Yaboot didn't install. You will need to boot manually with the

Why is the testing-distribution cd-set incomplete? On
http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/weekly/powerpc/ there is a gap between
image #4 and image #10.
