I included yaboot 1.3.16 in my own version of simple-cdd and I tried
again and had a look at the console:

I compile a custom kernel this weekend, setting CONFIG_SCSI_PROC_FS to
'y'. In the official one, it is turned off so no legacy /proc/scsi
directory. I will pray for this to work

archived /var/log/* and /etc/yaboot conf here:

I will give a quick try on a G4 next so if you see additional files
with today's date/time stamp then that is what they're from.

Power5 machine. The installer is based on squeeze repo.
Near the finish, yaboot installer failed:

I will do some more testing soon to see how this yaboot behaves in the
SID/Squeeze installer. I presume that I can just get into a tty from
within the installer, install the newer yaboot and have the installer
put the bootlaoder on the bootstrap partition. Or is it more difficult?

Pismo. I installed it without problems and I issued a ybin -v. I
rebooted and yaboot 1.3.16 smiled at me. I am back in my Squeeze
partition, no problems!!
