I thought I would put an update on this thread. I finally was able to mesa patches for the r300 driver to work. I was not correctly applying the patches the last time I tried. I decided to revisit and this used the "--dry-run" option to verify they were correctly applying. Now I have 3D on my iBook

I was able now to compile and install the patched deb. I rebooted and everything looked it was working fine. So I commented out the line that defined the depth to 16 and rebooted. Still 3D is not working with 24 depth. I am going to stay with how things are. I got 3D woking on 16 depth. I hope s
