i'd rather be using e-mail on a uni
te, the solution might be to cause
atyfb to properly initialise the hardware, it would seem to be a
cleaner way to do things if it's possible.
A quick hack in atyfb to add the same initialisation that bootx does
(resetting bus mastering and flushing the buffer) doesn't seem to

At a guess, we'd only need to tweak "known bad" built-in video cards
anyway. I'll pull down the BootX and BootX sources and see what's
happening there.

Thanks Simon! That's extremely helpful.
One question: Does the information there apply to 2.6
o is where
you'll find the source, for example the twin turbo driver is
imsttfb.c in that directory (looking there, it seems that it probably
supports vmode and cmode as described above, and not much else)

output to even begin to tell where that might be happening. I might
be able to dig out a serial device to act as console if that is
possible. If I can debug what's going on I have no issues with doing
some real work on getting this going.
Anyway, any gurus feel like c
p. The '9' below should be replaced by the partition number of
your boot partition, as a hex number (thus partition 10 would be 'a')
setenv boot-device ide0/[EMAIL PROTECTED]:9
setenv boot-command 1 bootr
reset-all
boot
And you should now be into the second stage of installation of your
machine.
See? It's simple, really :)

I agree on the BootX overhead, however be aware that the 6400 will nost
likely *not* boot from OF with 'screen' as output-device -- you'll need
to use a third party video adapter or a serial console

Hi,
I need a version of libxml2-dev for Woody that supports the following
functions.
xmlTextReaderRead
The version I have installed is 2.4.19-4woody2 but it does not have
those function.
$ nm /usr/lib/libxml2.a | grep xmlText
U xmlTextConcat
66e8 T xmlTextConcat

ik,yaboot}.conf (this is for / on md0 and swap on md2)
You don't need to specify every RAID partition, though -- root and swap
should be enough if your array is correctly configured.
HTH,
