apparently quik can't boot ubuntu's newer kernels. I also a kernel panic
with the newer 2.6 kernel under debian. I was however able to boot the
2.6.8 kernel, though, and Ubuntu warty has kernel-image-2.6.7-powerpc. So,

I did manage to get quik installed and booting under a running debian
installation that booted with bootx, so, take hope, it is possible. However
this was done with debian and not ubuntu.

These are the old sarge boot floppies, which work. The ones at ~wouter which
are from etch seem to be in a constant state of disarray. (unless of course

I have a powerpc 6500/275 and am trying to install debian etch with the
floppy images from ~wouter, or the beta3 from debian for that matter.
Everything works fine until I insert the net-install.img.
