Hi,
when I'm trying to run gnucash, the splash screen opens and displays
some information about loading modules. It then disappears, and the
program crashes with an "illegal instruction" signal.
This is on an iBook2.2 with an up-to-date Debian sid and a 2.6.4 kernel.
I searched around a little b

Hi,
thanks to all that replied. It works now.
Minor gotcha: I switched the X mouse device from /dev/gpmdata (I had gpm
repeat mouse events) to /dev/input/mice, because I remember reading that
with the new 2.6 kernel more than one processes can listen to mouse
events and because udev did not crea
Hi,
I tried udev (packaged from Debian) yesterday and was surprised how well
it worked.
Until I rebooted, that is. Turns out that my X Server won't start when
using udev. I get a weird plasma effect, where the (console) content is
still visible, but with patches of white that get brighter and b

I'd seriously advise against 2GB fo
Nevermind, another dist-upgrade solved the problem. Looks like I simply
had bad luck.

Hi,
I just did a dist-upgrade, and the X server stopped working. The screen
stays black except for a small strip of white in the middle that becomes
brighter and brigher. I had this problem before when configuring my
iBook, and fixed it by playing around with the usefbdev option, but that
doesn'

I think that the parent poster is not running Debian, but OS X. At
least, that's what I read from it.

Hi,
I've been running your patch for the last 24 hours and didn't notice any
issues. Seems to work.

Hi,
I noticed on my iBook (2.2, 700MHz, 14") with an airport (not extreme
card) the following:
- at home I have a pheenet 4 port WLAN router, where WEP does not work
- at work we used to have a d-link WLAN ap, where WEP did work
- at the university we have an unknown WLAN ap, where WEP works
WEP

Hi,
you might wanna try swf-player for that. I had mixed results with that
and uninstalled it for some reason. Don't remember anymore.

Hi,
never mind, this seemed to be a statistical fluke.

Hi,
I tried booting the latest 2.6-benh kernel on my iBook2.2 and, voila, it
works!
One thing that is annoying though is the constant fan noise. With a
2.4.x kernel the fan would rarely be activated. I searched the archives
to no avail.
What I did find in the archives was this post though:

Hi,
so far, I've been using a self-compiled 2.4-benh kernel. Unfortunately,
I can't find a 2.6 version with his patches. Who is running a 2.6
kernel on an iBook2.2 and where can I get (patched) sources? Is the
main tree good enough?
Thanks,

Hi,
I've seen a couple of posts mentioning a benh version of the 2.6.0-test
kernels. Where can I find that kernel? Do I need BitKeeper or is there
a CVS gateway? Are there any (inofficial) packages for bitkeeper for
Debian?
Thanks,
Viktor

Hi,
is there a way to get this kernel source without bitkeeper, maybe with
rsync as the other benh kernels?
Thanks,

Performance seems to be better when using ide-cd instead of of scsi-cd

Also, `hdparm -c 1 /dev/hdb` (to enable 32-bit IO_Support) hangs my
machine.
Any suggestions?
