Hello, The current (default) setting for therm_adt76x is to start the CPU fan at speed 128 when the CPU temperature reaches 50°C (that is, 122 °F). It's set at speed 255 when it reaches 55°C (134 °F). However, with these settings, the fan is almost all the time at speed 128. If I don't do anything

Problem solved. You have to set CONFIG_MAC_PARTITION=y. I was quite stupid not to notice this wasn't set. Especially since it says to use this if your hard drive was partitionned by a Macintosh. Hope this will give a definitive answer to that problem. Sam -- "Alcohol: The cause of, and solution

While it may not be related to the problem, I am wondering: is it normal that the kernel does not compile if I only set the builtin powermac ide support ? That is, CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE_PMAC and CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA_PMAC. If I do so, the compilation fails due to undeclared variables and functions. I

Ok, I have tried to build a new kernel that uses initrd (but keeping ide support built-in). The kernel boots, goes up to USB detection, and then freezes instead of panicking as it did without initrd. Any idea ? Sam -- All ITS machines now have hardware for a new machine instruction -- BFM Be Fru

Hi, I have just bought a Powerbook 15" 1.33GHz. I installed Sarge on it, then upgraded to Sid. The kernel installed by the installer is 2.6.7. However, I have not been able to run a 2.6.8 kernel. I've had a few different problems. If CONFIG_HIGHMEM=y and CONFIG_PREEMPT=y the kernel freezes with a
