i have debian running on several x86 boxes, and my ibook2 (600mhz, 14"). i
recently acquired a PowerMacintosh 6100/66 that lacks a cdrom. i am getting
the transceiver from a friend in the next week.
are there any caveats/tips/hints i may expect? does anybody have a how-to on
this that is not alr
first time kernel-building on ppc. i grabbed benh's rsync kernel. i have an
ibook, 600mhz, w/14 inch screen, cdrw/dvd et cetera.

anybody have a similar box, a working benh kernel {side question--how do i
tell which version i grabbed off of rsync?}, and care to share their .config
with me? i
i rsync'd a benh kernel and config'd it according to a how-to for ibooks on
ibooklinux.net.
my default sid kernel is 2.4.18-newpmac and i wanted to enable scsi for
cd-burning, plus play with the benh kernel as i've listened to ALOT of the
dialogue here on-list...
at first i thought my kernel wa
let me give a big thanks to everyone who has helped me in the last week. my
keymappings are all tightened down, and my eth's are working wonderfully. so
thanks. this list is very enlightening.
so now, i am trying to figure out why when i shut the lid on my ibook2 it
beeps at me quite rudely. with
onboard eth0 is working flawlessly. have used dhclient-2.2.x and pump, both
without problems.
airport worked ONCE last evening. so here's the dilemma, and how i got there.
purchased a linksys BEFW11S4 wireless access point/router w/4port switch.
that AP connects via one of the LAN lines to my l
ibook2, 2.4.18 kernel, running sid. i have F11 and little enter (right of the
space bar) emulated as mouse options.
i haven't figured out the key combo to switch workspaces, or jump out of X to
another tty.
is there an ibook(or mac-in-general) FAQ-hints-caveats list that exists (and
that i've m
