PS My machine reports that under the debian kernel 2.6.26
something ... windfarm IS loaded!!

that the kernel involved was not
supporting the fans. I got my version of ubuntu for the mac from here:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases/10.04/release/
and maybe I was premature and there is a work-around. I didn't know
where to raise this subject, so I'm glad you did.
