Anyone know when Thunderbird 0.8 and Firefox 1.0PR will be available for
apt-get for the ppc? I just tried and the system said I had the most
up-to-date versions. Thanks.

After looking at screenshots of X.org, it seems to be more graphically
up-to-date than XFree86. But, I have some questions:
1) Can X.org be apt-gotten? (otherwise, where and how)
2) How difficult is replacing xfree with x.org?
3) Any issues specific to the ppc architecture I should be aware? Th
When I try booting into Linux (the ppc version), I get "Default Catch!" when

reformatting the debian partition and reinstalling? Thanks.

I'm encountering an error during dual-booting with Yaboot. After Yaboot

I've been trying to find the right Debian kernel for the iMac and have
some questions.
Debian PPC (Woody) installs with 2.4.18 -- great networking, but it
doesn't support the iMac's CRT: the left-most character of each line is
hidden by the Mac's CRT black border.
I installed kernel-image-2.6.
Help! I installed kernel-image-2.6.3 and while fixing a video problem
has completely cut off off networking, along with other commands -- the
reason I'm writing this from OS X, not Debian.
I was upgrading from 2.18 and when installing 2.6.3 (a kernel
supporting the iMac CRT), there was a screen

I am a newbie when it comes to Debian linux (installed a dual-boot

XWindows, since I had XFree86 running on the Mac side. The Linux
version is much more difficult to configure.
When debian boots, it says it cannot start XWindows,
