I've got a weird situation with the second scsi disk I just put in my 8500. The disk is formatted as ext2, but I can only get mount to work if I specify the type as hfs. Check it out-- Here's what mac-fisk says about /dev/sdb: #type namelength base

Is it possible to record analog sound from an 8500's AV module? I can't figure out if my potato box even knows it's there. Playback works just fine-- I have soundcore and dmasound in /etc/modules and adequate permissions on /dev/dsp. Playback from the cd drive works fine. If I go from the headphone
