I have upgraded to X.org 6.9 some time ago, and I'm experiencing a huge
performance hit, compared to 6.8.2. It's not that bad (although
noticeable) with XAA, but after I switched to EXA to get rid of this
root window bug (the one that has been reported here several times) X
became really sluggish a

Hi all,
I managed to install just debian on a beige g3 266 (the only way worked was
using a scsi 18 gig 68 pin hard drive ... all other combinations of harddrives
failed - including only ide) ... however I couldn't figure out how to
configure X correct ...

Can artsd work with sound_pmac?
I can ear the sound of xmms or mpg123 but when I start artsd obtain the
error:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
SNDCTL_DSP_SETFMT failed - Invalid argument
Any hint?
Maybe it could be something wrong in the kernel configuration?
Thanks in advance :)

Is it now safe to upgrade a PowerBook 5,4 to xorg 6.9.0-dfsg-1.4?
Video card is ATI Mobility Radeon M10
Is it necessary to disable DRI to prevent lockups?
Cheers

Hi,
is fan management supposed to work on the G5 Quad (PowerMac11,2) with
2.6.16-rc1?
Cpufreq works with my machine but there seems to be no handler for the
fans, they always go full speed.

Hi,
I tried to build the bcm43xx driver from the debian package with a

Firstly I needed the header files for ieee80211softmac. After building
and installing the package I found the include files in
/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.15.1. The bcm43xx
