I recently wrote a Mail to the list with the same problem and just tried
a couple of things which weren't successful:
1. I tried to set open firmware resolution with fbset -g 1024 768 1024
768 x - no success. The -verbose option tells me, set
Anyone know if 2.6.10 kernel have the sleep 7 v. patch of ben included
in it ??..
I try to patch it and give me a lot of errors about previous
patches.
So i erase the directory create a new one , compile and reboot
to a new 2.6.10 and it seem that havent sleep support.
Its unusual ??? .Thanks .

Solved the problem. It seemed to be a problem with the mirror I used.
I changed it and it's now working again.

im way too lazy to compile my own kernel. and i would like to see
this actually be in the kernel. there was mention of making it
conditional as apparently it breaks things for some machine.
