-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello,
I recently wrote a Mail to the list with the same problem and just tried a couple of things which weren't successful: 1. I tried to set open firmware resolution with fbset -g 1024 768 1024 768 x - no success. The -verbose option tells me, set everythings worked fine - but it didn't. I read that setting the resolution wouldn't be successful, but that source was from 2001 and so I estimated the problem had been fixed. Is that true? Or shall I use another way to set the video mode. 2. It seems that the Linux Kernel sets the resolution of the OF FB from 1600x1200 to 1280x1024, which means he is definitly able to do so. But when I pass arguments like "video=mode:[EMAIL PROTECTED]" to the kernel, it just ignores them regardless of the form ( I tried "1024x768", "mode:1024x768" ). I don't find Documentation about OF FB on the net neither in the /usr/src/linux/Documentation - so please tell me, where to start my research. 3. I tried to change resolution in "ok Prompt" of my machine. I read that on macs ( which aren't too similiar to RS6000 machines ) it runs like that: "dev screen ~ show-modes ~ set-mode xxx" But neither show-modes nur set-mode is known and ls tells me, I'm in an empty directory ( pwd tells me /screen ). Is there a way like that to change the display resolution in OK prompt? Might another graphics adaptor solve the problems? I know these are a lot of questions but I'm totally helpless and I need at least a hint to make my machine at least a bit more useful ( at the moment it's totally useless for me ). If you have a hint or at least an idea please, please write me and tell it. I've got lots of time to try out. Many thanks in advance Philipp Vollmer -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.6 (FreeBSD) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFB4X+F9KYBCQQof6YRAndEAKDc5Nlk0JamU+KyfwDnw1Vkf6jxcACfS1oc KmOeoO8tor+XkC+UzZ7JiaI= =tF3i -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
