Hi debian-powerpc,
Could some developer please recompile the latest version of cernlib,
2004.11.04-1, on powerpc and upload? This should take on the order of 2
hours. I don't know why the buildd "voltaire" failed, but I suspect
it's a machine-specific problem because I had no trouble compiling

You are right. I changed the driver to oss (alsa emulated) and it works.

Thanks, that was the problem, it works now.
I misinterpreted this line ;)

from the manpage pbuttonsd.conf:
onAC_coversleep = [yes | no] (default: yes)

I am using Debian and pbbuttonsd. Everything works (volume and brightness keys).
Here's my config:
# Configuration file for PBButtonsd >= Version 0.5

Hi all,
First, I'm Yannick from Annecy in France, new to the debian-powerpc list.
I've tried Leigh's image on a 43P-260 (chrp, 1xPower3 cpu, no video card).
As suggested, I've rebuild the iso with the -U option of mkisofs, and
now it boots nicely from the OF prompt (boot cdrom; without any

Hi,
I've put a newer version of the ppc swsusp patches up at:
http://honk.physik.uni-konstanz.de/~agx/linux-ppc/kernel/2.6.10-rc3-agx0.diff
The patch contains some other small goodies such as a selectable HZ
value (default is 1000, 100 saves some battery) and some alsa and
cpufreq fixes.

Hi,
Sleeping works perfectly when pushing the power button but
when I close the lid, my iBook G4 just turns off the LCD.
How can I manage it to bring my book to sleep by closing the lid?

I'm using also a Dlink DWL-122 usb-wireless adapter under Linux.

Hi!
I'm using the DWL-122 from D-Link.
It's cheap and works perfect for me under Linux with the linux-wlan-ng
driver.

Hi all,
I've considering getting a network adapter for my iBook G4. I can't count on
Broadcom, so I'm looking for alternatives. I've readed in some places
different opinions about MA111 (NetGear) and some others adapters.
My question is obvious, what adapter would you recommend me? I'd like it
