I have a Sony AIT-1 tape backup unit (IDE) installed in a PowerMac
running debian/testing with a 2.6.8 kernel.
I have not had much success getting it to work :(
I have made a symlink from /dev/tape to /dev/nst0
I have the following in my /etc/modules.
ide-tape
ide-scsi
ide-cd

Plugin 0.9.7 with bmp and I still get no sound...

I'm finally there. It weren't the modelines at all. I compiled the latest
kernel (2.6.9) with a correct radeonfb module and it works great now. A pure
driver problem. GLX and DRI are still on my list but this can wait.
