I'm trying to compile a brand new 2.6.1 kernel to replace my
2.4.something one. I'm having trouble with compiling it. I ran
fakeroot make-kpkg --revision=custom.2.0 kernel_image
per the Debian instructions. The first errors are as follows:
depmod: cannot read ELF header from /lib/modules/2.4

AFAIK, it doesn't work on powerpc. I read this on the Gentoo forums some
time ago, might have changed.

Hi!
I installed the IBM Java 1.4.1 on my woody sytem. Soon I found out that I
need libstdc++5 to use it which is not yet in woody. I installed it from
sarge (together with some other libs that needed to be updated). Now when I
start a java program with a gui I get a signal 11 in the X server.

Hi,
I just rsync'ed to update my linux-2.4-benh sources. The new sources

This happened to me with 2.6.1-rc1-ben1 (IIRC).
What I did was to remove:
install snd-powermac /sbin/modprobe -i snd-powermac ; ( /sbin/modprobe -ir
i2c-keywest && /sbin/modprobe -i i2c-keywest )
from /etc/modprobe.d
Hi all,

rsync'ed), and everytime I boot my iBook, the boot process stops with
ALSA. I can see the line "Starting ALSA stuff", but I have to hard
reboot to get o
