No, that's not the problem. I double checked that, e.g.:
~$ fuser /dev/dsp
~$ cat /dev/dsp
cat: /dev/dsp: No such device or address
That is expected since dmasound doesn't support recording. You'll have

Hi guys,
I just rsync the 2.4.21-ben2 and, when compiling, two things happen:
If I activate the:
CONFIG_FB_CONTROL
CONFIG_FB_PLATINUM
CONFIG_FB_VALKYRIE
the compilation crashes with:
ld -T arch/ppc/vmlinux.lds -Ttext 0xc000 -Bstatic arch/ppc/kernel/head.o
arch/ppc/kernel/idle_6xx.o init/m

Hmm... I have never set this up myself, but a few questions (just to
make sure):
1) You do have the video1394 module loaded correct? It seems to be
using the raw1394 module for the iSight, I don't know if that is a
problem or not.
2) I don't know what version of Coriander you are using. The one
I problem is namely Step 2 of the debian developer
process: Identity Verification. I don't like having
to share photo-ids and my real id information, at all,

Hi,
I am using Debian/Woody on a PowerMac 9600/350 with an IMS TwinTurbo
graphics adapter and have the following problem when
using XFree86 with the imstt- or fbdev-Driver :
- the colors are only correct when in 8-Bit-Mode
- 16 bit depth yields in "psychedelic" color shifts
- when using 24 bit
