I just installed Debian for the first time on my Power Mac 6500.
I put on a few packages, including the 2.4.28-powerpc woody kernel image.
But now the strangest things are happening.
Sometimes when I am in enlightenment it will just freeze up. Moving the

hi there,
anyone know of a kernel source branch of 2.5 that currently compiles
and mostly runs on powerpc? I'm trying to figure out whether the
newest ieee sources will work with my b&w, but can't get the
linuxppc-2.5 sources (I rsync'ed them from source.mvista.com) to
compile for me.
thanks,

Find out the keycode via "showkey -s" and map it:
"setkeycode e05e 84".
"dumpkeys" will show the current map btw.
That will not work on my iBook but does work
Hi,
Has anyone else noticed that an upgrade of apt sources on 19/06/03
introduced a new kernel vmlinuz-2.4.20-powerpc. This doesn't boot
on my ppc sid system and the only way I could think of to make my
iMac bootable was to start from the install CDs and install the
2.4.18 kernel.
The new kernel

I don't see why it would be a problem ;-)
It seems to me that it's rather a very good feature.

Hey Matt,
I've been using 2.4.20 and 2.4.21 from a kernel.org mirror to be able to
use my external firewire drive. I'm not sure of the fundamental diffs,
between them, but I think you want the OHCI, instead of the PCILynx 1394
driver. I'm not sure, but I seem to have a dim memory about Apple's 13

These debs from kde.org are not from Debian, so they might cause problems like
the ones you're seeing.

No. The radeon DRM in 2.4 kernels
